Terms of Service

Draft pending legal sign-off. These Terms state Hydropark's intended, product-enforced commitments. The seller-of-record model, liability limitation, and warranty sections (marked PLACEHOLDER) are under jurisdiction-specific legal review (X-LEGAL.3) and will be finalized before launch. The business-continuity commitment below is a firm product promise (SPEC §28.2), not a placeholder.

1What you buy

The Hydropark app and its local model are free, and two skills are free (Kitchen Timer & Units, and Packing List). Each additional skill is a one-time $5 purchase. Themed bundles are offered — a three-pack at about $12 and a starter five-pack at about $18. Prices are shown in US dollars; your local price and any tax are shown at checkout. There is no subscription, no seats, and no usage metering — the work runs on your processor.

2Own what you buy

A purchased skill is a perpetual entitlement: yours to use offline, forever, the way a book is yours. You may install a skill on up to five of your own devices, and uninstall and reinstall it for free. Licenses verify against a signature already on your device — there is no expiry and no periodic phone-home that could switch a skill off. Turn off the network and everything you own keeps working.

3The offline-forever commitment (business continuity)

The promise that you own what you buy has to survive us. Today, re-download, restore, and new-device activation depend on our servers — so we commit, in these Terms, to what happens to everything you own if Hydropark ever shuts down (SPEC §28.2):

Installed skills always keep working

A skill you have installed verifies its license offline, using keys already on your device. No server is ever needed to keep using what is installed, during normal operation or after a wind-down.

A wind-down never ships a "keygen"

Our private signing key — the one that signs paid licenses every installed app trusts — is never released and never embedded in any tool, because releasing it would forge the entire catalog. Instead, before any shutdown, while keys are still under control, we batch-mint perpetual per-device licenses for every owner's every entitlement and ship them in a downloadable final offline bundle — your owned skill packages plus those pre-signed licenses. The bundled continuity tool verifies and installs; it never signs. Only public verification keys are ever published.

If new-device activation is still needed afterwards

Only then, activation uses a dedicated single-purpose "sunset" key, pushed into the trusted set by a final signed app update and released only as a deliberate "the catalog is now free" act — never a key that ever signed a paid license.

This is a trust feature, not a legal footnote: it is what makes "own what you buy" true even in the worst case.

4Refunds

Every skill carries a 14-day, no-questions refund. Request it from the account portal (PLACEHOLDER) or by emailing hello@hydropark.app within 14 days of purchase.

5Revocation and the offline promise

A refund, chargeback, or confirmed fraud ends the corresponding entitlement, but that takes effect only on the next successful online contact — a device that stays offline keeps the skill until then. The one exception that may override the offline-forever guarantee is a safety hard-block on a withdrawn skill (for example, a genuine safety issue); otherwise a withdrawn or deprecated skill you already own keeps working.

6AI-generated advice and disclaimers

Skills run a small AI model that can be wrong. Content they generate — recipes, nutrition figures, home-repair and maintenance guidance, and the like — is informational only and is not medical, dietary, food-safety, legal, or professional advice. Verify anything that matters.

In particular: the Cooking Assistant makes no authoritative allergen or food-safety claims; allergen warnings are produced by a separate deterministic rule-based layer, and you must verify allergens and quantities yourself. Nutrition Coach is informational only and is not medical guidance. Regulated-advice categories are scope-limited, and medical skills are excluded from this version.

7Seller of record, payments, and tax

PLACEHOLDER — pending legal finalization (X-LEGAL.3). The exact seller-of-record entity and the liability limitation that rests on it are being finalized with jurisdiction-specific review. The paragraph below describes the intended model, provider-neutrally.

Skills are sold through a payment provider acting as the merchant/seller of record, which computes, collects, and remits applicable sales tax and VAT. Card data is handled entirely by the provider and never touches Hydropark's servers. Your purchase is also subject to that provider's terms at checkout.

8Acceptable use

Skills are declarative packages that contain no executable code and may only use the app's fixed, audited tools. Don't attempt to extract, redistribute, or resell a paid skill's contents, circumvent license verification, or use the app to break the law. The base agent and free skills are provided as-is for personal use.

9Warranties and limitation of liability

The app and skills are provided "as is" to the maximum extent permitted by law, without warranties, and our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the affected skill. The enforceable final wording is under jurisdiction-specific legal review and will replace this paragraph before launch. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited under the consumer law that applies to you.

10Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; we will change the date above and, for material changes, surface a notice. The ownership and continuity commitments in sections 2 and 3 are core promises we do not intend to walk back.
